Note, these mods are not compatible with each other. You are encouraged to read about each mod on their respective Nexus pages and decide which you would like the most. There are many mods that change the way combat works in Skyrim, and each do it a little differently. SkyrimвЂ™s melee combat is the best itвЂ™s been in any Elder Scrolls game, but itвЂ™s still a long way from being any good or challenging.

ItвЂ™s became my new personal preference over CoT since it seems to be much more compatible with other mods, though CoT is popular enough that youвЂ™ll find a patch for everything. Note, currently no Dawnguard or Dragonborn support but that is no doubt on the way. Pure Weather makes nights extremely dark, and adds a ton of new weather types.

Pure Weather вЂ“ A new alternative to Climates of Tamriel, will work with your lighting mods.

CoTвЂ™s weather component is compatible with all the above mods. As a result itвЂ™s highly recommended to use CoT even if you prefer another lighting mod.

Climates of Tamriel вЂ“ On top of a lighting overhaul similar to the above mods, CoT vastly improves SkyrimвЂ™s weather.

Ultra Realistic World Lighting вЂ“ Improves the lighting and saturation and claims to have zero performance loss,В can be used with Relighting Skyrim.

Not compatible with ELFX or RLO, is compatible with URWL.

Relighting SkyrimВ вЂ“ Fixes the placements of in game lighting to be more realistic.

Realistic Lighting Overhaul вЂ“ An alternative to ELFX, there are many comparisons online you can find and decide which you would prefer.

Can be too dark for some people, options below are less extreme.

Enhanced Lights and FX вЂ“В An excellent lighting mod that almost entirely removes ambient lighting so the game is lit mostly by sources such as fires.

The ambient lighting is too high, everything looks washed out and torches are all but pointless. has this as an optional feature, but if you use Pure Waters youвЂ™ll have to use this if you want the waves.

Waves вЂ“ Adds the oceanic waves from the Dragonborn DLC to SkyrimвЂ™s coast.

This mod adds the crumbled remains of Oblivion gates to SkyrimвЂ™s landscape, itвЂ™s lore friendly, visually pleasing, and a nice addition for anyone who once played Oblivion.

Oblivion Gates вЂ“ ItвЂ™s said that Skyrim was hit by the Oblivion Crisis very badly, yetВ two hundredВ years later and the signs of damage are nowhere to be found despite ruins still standing from thousands of years earlier.

No ENB presets areВ shown here, and neither are any texture packs as I believe the optimized Bethesda High-Res pack is enough.

The mods I will show here are not a complete list of mods to get Skyrim looking as good as it can, my goal is to showcase relatively small graphical changes that improve the look of the game while still maintaining a vanilla look and performance. Skyrim is a very pretty game, but it can look even prettier.
